You can do this with Windows too. You just need rufus, cause it gives you the option to install windows as "windows to go" I personally run tiny 10 on a thin client

The thing is, you can still find these (enterprise) drives new (or the PM983, or the PM963) for almost the same price as other (consumer) drives on the market, difference being that these have a few more times endurance, and they simply do not throttle under stress, they give all the advertised speed until the full disk is written. Latency and IOPS tend to hold a lot better under load too. And they will not corrupt data when the power goes off, they have capacitors that commit the cache to the NAND in an event of power loss. The 3.84tb PM883 has 4gb of dram as cache, so it absorbs small OS writes like crazy, just got one (used) for 120 usd....

You're getting identical numbers that my PCE-AC56 gets using a D-Link DIR 878 Router (AC1900) using iperf3 to test transfer speeds between my PC and my S10+ on 5ghz. My S10+ can download at 40MB/s from my PC and my PC can download around 25MB/s from my S10+. I mean, the router gives up to 1300Mbps 5ghz speeds (theoretical) and both my S10+ and PCE AC56 connect at 866Mbps because they're 2x2 set ups on 802.11AC. Weird. But my motherboard has an RZ-608 in it... definitely doesn't have the range but it does support Wi-Fi 6e. I just don't have a 6e router lmao. But, anyways, I use Ethernet for everything I possibly can. I was just interested in the AC-68 because it, too, works with Wireshark for radiowiretapping. Seeing all of this, I doubt the range is any better than the AC-56's range. I pick up on neighbor's wifi hundreds of yards away with it from inside my brick house.

Not only was this a bad desgin for this laptop but for ALLL their laptops throughout this era. they all have the same problem. I bought mu XPS 9 years ago and it's just developed this problem now. My fault really as I leave it plugged in all day. Will never do that again. Anyway mine decided to balloon up today. I'm just going to remove the battery, but wondering if I need to do anyhting else or will the track pad just work with nothing else supporting it underneath where the battery was. I paid £1700 for my laptop and its still ok tday... appart form this awful desgn flaw. I wonder how much money they made from dsigning it like this and people just buying a new one. Soething tells me thay cant be so stupid as to not know this is an issue.
